Charts 8-18: 1430 mid-day Monday?

The upper Bollinger bands on both the daily and weekly SPX are right at 1430.  The top line of the pink ending-diagonal-triangle bearish wedge I've been tracking hits 1430 just after 2:00 pm EDT tomorrow.  First target on my count is the 1355-1356 area, suggested by the 3 Peaks and a Domed House mega-pattern.

An intraday reversal and sharp selloff also removes the pesky problem of leaving a big steaming GAP up here on the chart.

Hot intraday reversal action?

I took my 4 y-o on her first backpacking overnight this weekend, up the Graves Creek trail in Olympic National Park.  I had hiked this trail several times before, up to Six Ridge Pass and points beyond, and it just had not registered with me just how crazy exposed it is -- it contours above the deep box canyon of Graves Creek.  Despite the steep mountainsides and a few hairy scree-filled gully crossings (one of which required some dicey scrambling), she hiked with a ton of heart and made it the 4 miles in to the campsite at the ford at the junction with Success Creek.

This is a secondary park trail; on an August weekend with a full lot at the trailhead, we saw nobody and were alone in this corner of the backcountry.  Everyone is bound for Enchanted Valley.  We had a great time and my new hiker impressed the hell out of me with her grit and determination.

Alone in the wilderness

We celebrated with burgers and smoothies at the McDonald's in Aberdeen, which really looks like hell these days.

Apple biggest company ever. Nice daily divergence with higher highs and in potential wave 5 up
